From Chaos to Community: The Story Behind Play Hideaway

Dear Play Hideaway Village,

When I first dreamed of creating Play Hideaway, it came from a deep desire to build a space where parents and caregivers could feel seen, supported, and valued. As a working mom juggling the chaos of career, passions, and motherhood, I’ve had my share of moments where I wished for a haven—a place where I could catch my breath while my kids played nearby, a place where I didn’t have to choose between meeting their needs and tending to my own.

That’s the heart behind Play Hideaway.

This space isn’t just a play area or a business; it’s a reflection of my belief that parents and caregivers deserve a supportive community and a moment to themselves—without guilt. I’m building this small business brick by brick, often with my own kids by my side. You’ll likely see them at the door, greeting you with their big smiles, reminding me that this mission is personal.

We’re working to develop programs and groups that shift the focus. While many parenting groups center on child development while caregivers socialize, our approach is different: we focus on you. Our hope is to create opportunities for parents and caregivers to engage in self-care, find creative outlets, or simply take a moment to recharge while children play and socialize nearby.

This isn’t easy work, and I don’t have all the answers. But I believe in this mission with my whole heart. I believe in creating a space where parents feel lighter when they leave than when they came in. I believe in the power of connection, compassion, and community.

To everyone who has walked through our doors, offered words of encouragement, or supported us in any way: thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for being part of this journey, and for allowing me to figure this out alongside you.

Your presence reminds me that this work matters. We’re building something special together—not just a play space, but a community where parents, caregivers, and children all feel like they belong.

As part of this mission, our blog will serve as an additional resource for you. Here, I’ll share ideas, knowledge, and recommendations—from fun crafts to do with your kids to parenting tips and tricks to make life just a little bit easier. My hope is that this blog becomes an extension of our community, offering support and inspiration wherever you are.

Thank you for being part of Play Hideaway. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

With gratitude and hope,

Ivi Lindau
